As the definitions of family and ownership dissolve, housing emerges not as a neutral backdrop but as a radical agent reshaping how we live, care, and come together. Diffuse House is a speculative design-research project that challenges the static nature of the single-family house by proposing an adaptable, collective housing model that responds to the contemporary moment.
The project is a vehicle for testing theoretical ideas of collective living, families of choice, and shared ownership in housing. This proposal bridges research and design by first examining contemporary housing projects that challenge the conventional norms of the nuclear family, privatized ownership, and commodification.
